Footpath Improvements at West Marden
As a result of a succesfull bid by the Parish Council for funding from WSCC Operation Watershed, works have commenced in West Marden to improve drainage at the West Marden end of the footpath to Compton alongside the B2146.

The improvements will further reduce the likelihood of flooding in West Marden during times of heavy rainfall.
The footpath between Compton and West Marden is a popular route, particularly enjoyed by children and young families heading to Compton Recreation Ground and Compton School. As a result of blocked and inadequate drainage, the lower section of the path has been regularly flooded and blocked with sediment, such that pedestrians were forced to use the road.
Works will be completed shortly and users can once again enjoy a footpath that is dry and useable all year round.
